Bred to excel in the cutting pen (and full siblings have) but never had the opportunity with his previous owner. Slick is as athletic as they come with a phenomenal mind to boot. With only 2 months training as a 2yr old, followed by 3 seasons of strictly pasture breeding mares, he went back to work in January 2021 like he hadn’t had a day off.

His primary focus under saddle has been extreme cowboy racing. In 2023, he placed 6th at the invitation only Calgary Stampede Cowboy Up! Challenge. He’s awesome in the branding pen and has no issue dragging bigger calves. He has also dabbled in cutting clinics and ranch horse versatility where his breeding shines through. His ability to work and read a cow is outstanding with the amount of training he actually has on cows.

Slick is proving to pass his athleticism and mind onto his offspring.
